How to Position Curtain Holdbacks

Install curtain holdbacks approximately one-third of the way up from the bottom of your curtain panel. This placement is typically around eye level for most standard window treatments and creates a balanced, tailored look.

To determine the exact height:

1. Measure the full length of your curtain from the top to the bottom hem.

2. Divide that number by three.

3. Mark that distance from the floor — this is your ideal holdback height.

For a more dramatic or elongated appearance, you can mount the holdbacks slightly higher on the wall, allowing the fabric to drape more elegantly and draw the eye upward.
